Today is Bernie's Birthday

My big sister's name if Bernadette, but we always call her Bernie. She has such a beautiful voice that she was one of the lead singers in our choir at St. Ambrose Church in Dorchester, Massachusetts. The other lead singer was Shirley Lalley. When Bernie was a young girl scout, she sang solo in our group at the Boston Common. I sang in the back-up group. Although my voice was very different than my sister's, I really enjoyed the feeling that singing brought. Of being one with my sister and the choir -- everyone singing in harmony for all the world to enjoy. It was nice at the end of Mass, when people would approach our Sister director and give compliments on our singing. I was always most proud of my sister when she led us in song. Anyways, back to Bernie's day. Today, she is 61 years old. Happy Birthday, Bernie! Love, your sister, Anna
